NEW: Get Podcast Summaries on X or Substack

Over the years, we have consistently received feedback from podcast subscribers saying that although they enjoy our content, they don’t feel they have enough time to listen to the podcasts on a weekly basis.

This prompted us to initially think about launching a weekly newsletter which would summarise the podcast material in written form for those who prefer to receive a condensed version. However, we were concerned that a newsletter format might still be too lengthy for many people who would otherwise like to subscribe.

After much thought and deliberation, we have now decided that instead of launching a newsletter, we will launch the following new subscription options:

  • A private feed on X (formerly known as Twitter)
  • A Substack space

X (Twitter)

We will make use of X’s new subscription feature, which allows users to access exclusive posts for a monthly fee. Since our X following has grown substantially in recent years, we feel that offering our paid content through X is a logical step forward as it makes our content more visible and accessible to a wide audience.

If you subscribe, you will gain access to a private feed on our X page where we will regularly post condensed summaries of podcast material as and when podcasts are released.

We will also be able to interact with subscribers who reply to posts and may occasionally host Spaces sessions where subscribers can ask questions and where we can invite guests to join discussions.

We will launch a Substack space for those who prefer not to use X.

The paid content offered on Substack will be the same as that offered through the X subscription.

The full podcasts are NOT included in either the X or Substack subscription. These are merely intended as additional subscription options for those who want to receive our podcast content in a condensed format.

We also want to make it absolutely clear that the current podcast subscription model will remain in place and will in no way be changed as a result of this.

Furthermore, the new subscription model will NOT retrospectively add archived podcast content. Upon launching the new X and Substack subscriptions, only new podcast material will be added.

The new X and Substack subscriptions will be launched tomorrow, Monday, November 6th.

The subscription price will be $5 a month or $55 per year (annual subscription on Substack only).

Further announcements will follow tomorrow, including instructions on how to subscribe.

If you haven’t already, follow us on X to see the latest posts and announcements.

If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our contact form.

  1. I paid for a full year, so does x know this and not ask me to pay again? At age 86 that is a lot of money when you are on a low fixed income.

    • Hi George,

The X subscription is currently not yet live but you can already subscribe on Substack instead to get podcast summaries.

X and Substack are separate subscription platforms so they will not know that you have already paid for a year.

However, please email us via our contact form to get a refund for the remainder of your yearly subscription (minus payment processing fees).
